Itinerary: 

• 6:30 meet and greet at REI Berkeley
• 7:00 Backcountry talk w/  Richard Bothwell
• 8:00 mixer at Sol Taqueria

We have a guest speaker Richard Bothwell coming to join us in the REI community room from Outdoor Adventure Club. He will be doing an Intro to Backcountry - what's needed to get into the backcountry....a lot of gear talk and touchy-feely with the gear.

Richard Bothwell is:

• Ski and Splitboard guide for the past 20 years
• Avalanche educator- AIARE Course Leader
• Author of Light Tours of Tahoe, a guidebook for backcountry ski descents that avoid avalanche terrain
• Former Executive Director of AIARE
• Co-Founder of SlabLab
• Owner, Director, Head Guide and avalanche educator for Outdoor Adventure Club

Afterwards, we will head over to the Sol Taqueria, 1335 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley.
